Viewing the prophets primarily as telling the future implies that they are telling the readers about the future just for the sake of informing the readers about the future. This is unethical because God does not want any prophet to foretell the future to any human being just for the sake of foretelling. The future is being told by the prophets for the readers to understand the consequences of future judgment and prepare themselves by acting and taking wise/ethical/moral decision. Otherwise, the promise of future reward for every reader can become invalid or unavailable for the readers.
